Domaine Eric Louis 26 Rue de la Mairie,18300 Thauvenay, France

Domaine Eric Louis traces its roots back to 1860, when Eric’s great-grandmother Pauline sold her wines at the local markets. Eric Louis is the fourth generation to work the vines, and uses both modern vinification techniques and know-how passes on by his ancestors to produce a wide range of wine from Sancerre to Pouilly-Fume, Menetou-Salon, and Quincy. The estate spreads over 35 hectares that includes about 60 plots in the commune of Thauvenay, which rises in altitude from about 150 to 300 meters. The climate is temperate with a continental influence. The growing season is dry and the average day time temperature is 26 degree Celsius during the summer, which is ideal for Sauvignon Blanc. The vines are rooted in flinty, chalky clay-limestone terroir. The wines are pure with a fine minerality that pairs well with seafood, fish, and white meats.
