Two words define the 1998 vintage: balance and elegance. From the very beginning of January, until the very end of October, the weather was sunny and regular, while the blue sky gave space to the clouds of moderate rain at the very right moments, i.e. every time that the soil was starting to dry. For this exceptional reason from an environmental perspective, the 1998 was a very positive year.

The alternation of long periods of sun and short and regular rains led to a perfect ripening of the grapes and a regular amount of production. The most marvelous particularity of this vintage had been the warm and breezy months of September and October, which allowed Rocche dei Barbari to extend the harvest period until the first days of November.

More than 20 years later, the unique Alivio Barbaresco Riserva 1998 shows a very complex structure and a symphonic spectrum of scents and aromas. These immerse notes of elegance and truly refined tannins introduce the wine lovers to the state of meditative relaxation.
